Description
A low-profile intervention in the red sands. Using local rammed earth and deep-set cooling courtyards, the Mirage provides a thermal sanctuary in one of SA’s most extreme climates.
The building is oriented to harness the prevailing desert breezes. Thick-walled thermal massing keeps the interior temperatures stable, while the use of copper accents will patina over time, allowing the home to age gracefully alongside the surrounding arid ecosystem.
